Chief-in-Editor. He has been involved in the Online Community since 1996, and established several successful European gaming websites. Among them were projects for Neverwinter Nights, WarCraft, Diablo and Quake--just to name a few. In late September 2009, he started to develop this blog with the support of BioWare/EA.
GameZone took the chance to have a quick chat with the Executive Producer of BioWare, Mark Darrah, about the upcoming DLC Return to Ostagar. Additionally, they talked a little about the Dragon Age franchise and its future. Multiplayer someone?
Question: With so many mysteries and story threads left hanging, what made you choose the return to the battle that really launched the game?
Mark: There are a lot of questions left unanswered in the Battle of Ostagar. This is the pivotal moment when your character truly becomes a Grey Warden (really THE Grey Warden). As a result, it is emotionally powerful to investigate the aftermath of the conflict further.
Will this DLC conclude a chapter or leave gamers with more questions?
Mark: There is always more to learn.
What factors do you consider key when deciding on a DLC?
Mark: We want to look for story telling opportunities that strengthen the character’s involvement in the Dragon Age world.
When can we expect the next full installment of the Dragon Age saga?
Mark: In the future. (this was answered with that enigmatic smile.)
Will this always be a single-player experience or is there a possibility for assisted cooperative gameplay down the line?
Mark: There is definitely room in the franchise to explore multiplayer story telling.
What have you heard from the player community that has resonated the most with the dev team?
Mark: We love to hear from our fans! We are currently in the process of gathering as much feedback as we can so that we can learn from it and make our future games even better.
Since its release, what has been the biggest surprise for BioWare and the dev team in terms of player feedback?
Mark: The support behind Warden’s Keep has been amazing. I’m glad the response has been so strong.

He should become a politician: he managed to answer all the questions posed without really saying anything at all–awesome! :D
