Alistair Fans Have a Special Place On Facebook

Being in a fan club or two is definitely nothing new for the Facebook-savvy crowd.  In fact, Greywardens.com is now on the popular social networking site (have you become a fan yet?).  But did you know there is a fan club 1,452 members deep for one of our favorite Grey Wardens?

Most of its members are women, but don’t let that discourage  you if you’re male.  The lively bunch over at the Dragon Age Origins: Alistair Fan Club doesn’t discriminate or shun anyone that loves the wise-cracking warden as much as they do.  The group is extremely active and their discussion boards are constantly moving with speculation as to what is going to happen in Dragon Age: Awakening, and if their favorite character will be making a reappearance.

Fans of the group are welcome to post their favorite Alistair quotes, pictures, fan fiction and thoughts on the wall and discussion page.  The group is public and therefore open to all who wish to join, as long as its members are on their best behavior.  Making fun of Alistair is strictly prohibited.  Recently several members (as well as non-members) sent letters to the editor of Game Informer Magazine to complain about the magazine’s choice of dubbing Alistair as one of 2009’s “biggest dorks.”

Alistair’s fans have proven to be very dedicated as well as resourceful.  One fan has apparently put together a small team to produce a mod for the PC version of the game, called the “Alistair flirt pack.”  The creator of the mod says that it will provide more choices of dialogue with Alistair during different stages of the romance with him.  The flirt pack is still under development at this time, though the creator encourages others to get involved by commenting and contributing to the project.

The group is all about having fun and discussing the game with fellow Alistair fans, and its members are all very quick to help when it comes to game advice.  While the discussions tend to waver towards the silly side (in the best way possible), if you are looking for a place to share your enthusiasm for Alistair, the Dragon Age: Origins – Alistair Fan Club on Facebook may be a good place to start.
