The newest version of the client is now available to download
The social networking site and messenger client known as Raptr provides gamers with the ability to write reviews, discuss games and show off their achievements. Though Raptr is still in beta, it seems to be working well for the most part and has released its newest version of the client last week.
One of the more interesting aspects of Raptr is the fact that it not only tracks the games that you are currently playing, but also what everyone else is playing.
On the main page is a “Top 10 Games On Raptr” list and Dragon Age: Origins has steadily been within the top ten since its release, clocking in a whopping 172,352 hours! And of course this isn’t counting the people who do not use the Raptr client. While the game may never dethrone the all-powerful World of Warcraft or Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, it is impressive that an RPG devoid of any online multi-player options has remained within the top ten for so long.
The player written reviews have been exceptionally positive for the most part, claiming the game sucks the player in with an engaging storyline. Raptr user Arumi recently wrote on January 30th:
I have heard that the text/story in this game is equivalent to several novels, and I wouldn’t be surprised if that was accurate! However, never once was I bored with the progressive story.
In contrast, those who did not enjoy the game as much as others complained about the heavy dialogue, graphics, combat system and the price of downloadable content. Out of an average of 423 ratings, Dragon Age: Origins has garnered a solid five stars. Raptr is a free messenger client that is compatible with AIM, Yahoo, MSN, Gtalk, ICQ and Xfire. It requires Windows XP or Vista, or for their brand new Mac client, OSX 10.5 and up.
