Passed certification - Release date has now been confirmed
Finally good news for the patient PlayStation3 playerbase. Victor Wachter, BioWare’s Community Facilitator, just sent word a few moments ago that Return to Ostagar’s release date has now been officially confirmed.
The long wait has almost come to an end. Return to Ostagar for PlayStation3 will be out on March 11, 2010. PS3 players will receive an update a week ahead before the DLC will be available for download.
This is what Victor had to say:
Return to Ostagar for the PlayStation 3 has passed certification and will be released on March 11, 2010.
We will also be releasing an update for the PlayStation 3 version of Dragon Age a week ahead of time on March 4, 2010. We’ll release the contents of this update once we have the final list of changes.
We would also like to update you on the release date for Awakening. Dragon Age: Awakening will be released to retail in North America for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on March 16, as scheduled (with Europe/Other regions later that week as normal with retail releases). The PlayStation 3 DLC version of Awakening will be released on March 18.
We truly appreciate our PlayStation 3 fans’ patience while they were awaiting this release. Thanks for playing Dragon Age: Origins, and we’re looking forward to seeing you in Ostagar and Awakening!

Great news for PS3 owners! I hope Bioware / EA continue supporting this great game with more and more content at reasonable prices.
Of course we are still waiting for even a single Patch for the Mac! Fortunately I did hear something unofficial that they are finalizing the patch, working on finalizing the RtO and are hoping to get the releases 'more in sync' going forward … but after a couple of months of silence I will hold judgment until it is actually official …

rto and the patch must release earlier, because ff13 is on march 9, think of possibility that bacause of too much waiting, people are tired of expectations… and i think ff13, since it is first for ps3, it will a big hit and expecting to be a good game or maybe game of the year…. possibility that rto will be forgotten and also awakening will not be as good as the origins in terms of demand beacuse of game rivalry, specially when final fantasy 13, god of war and resonance of fate will be hitting our console this coming march… so ask bioware or sony to release the patch and rto much earlier, hopefully this coming thursday. we all know it is already finish. they delaying it for bussiness. just release it much earlier….

too late bioware, just gonna buy awakenings and pass on RtO

FFXIII is going to be the worst Final Fantasy in existence, it's so linear that literally the map is a straight line, there are NO SIDEQUESTS OR TOWNS with pointless npcs to talk to…and summons are so useless that they are a pain to obtain since you'll never use them….if any RPG is going to be game of the year it's this Dragon Age

Strange that is it released that late.. espacially because all DLC armor and stuff will be deleted as i readed before so what is the point in buying it? You can play it a short time. Untill you have Awakening, you can't go to Ostagar and you gave your money for armor and stuff that will be deleted. What is the point in buying it then?

You seem to misunderstand. Awakenings isn't needed to grab RtO, in addition your DLC gear will not be deleted, you can still use it in Origins (and all the other Origins DLC planned), you just cannot use it in Awakenings.
What all the devs have been saying, though, is that the gear in Awakenings is better than the DLC gear (which was why they decided not to port the gear over). You're sacrificing a bunch of gear, that would have soon been outclassed anyway, to allow the devs to focus on Awakenings.

i just install the new update they said.. nothing changes, just added new trophies for awakening.. but about the gameplay, bug's, framerate issue, nothing changes… what kind of update is that? we've been waiting for weeks just for that…. bioware please be serious to your announcement, because we are expecting a lot from you, and until now, we are not happy in kind of treatment you give us, specially the ps3 user's……..

oooh….dear…
Well I was only recently saying we needed another 'RtO fiasco' to make things interesting again. I wasn't actually expecting it to be literally another RtO fiasco…
