Exclusive Interview With Chris Pramas

Greywardens.com & RPGMP3.com interview Chris Pramas
We recently managed to snap an exclusive interview with Chris Pramas of Green Ronin Publishing, the brains behind the Dragon Age tabletop RPG.
Being a big fan of tabletop roleplaying, to me the Dragon Age RPG is one of the more interesting aspects of the franchise. It allows me to take my players on further adventures through the world of Thedas. As some of you may know we, with help from rpgmp3.com, even release these sessions in an ongoing Podcast series. The latest episodes can be found here.
Tabletop roleplaying is a little different to it’s electronic cousin. The computer is replaced by a player known as the Gamesmaster and each companion is played by a separate player. There is no ‘main character’ in the sense of the computer game, instead each player adds to the communal enjoyment: each is their own hero in an adventure of their own devising. As I have mentioned before, the biggest difference between the two, lies in the freedom a tabletop roleplaying game offers it’s players.
In tabletop gaming there is not scripting, or invisible walls to stop you doing whatever you wish. While Dragon Age claims to offer you choices that make a difference, to date, only a tabletop rpg can truly take that to the next level. Why, you might ask, well because even in Origins you are still trapped inside the choices BioWare offer to you. Want to romance Dog? In the tabletop game you can, sure your friends might never speak to you again, but you still have the freedom to do so.
So whereas other Wardens have been chasing after Fernando Melo and other BioWare dudes, I once again teamed up with rpgmp3.com to bring you an exclusive podcast-interview with Chris Pramas, the lead designer behind Dragon Age: Green Ronin. Let us know what you think.
Catch you next time, Grey Wardens.
