And why Hawke has fans fighting for balance
After the debut of the Dragon Age 2 “Destiny” trailer, fans over on the Dragon Age 2 forums are calling out to BioWare for Lady Hawke in some, any form. Although the option to play as a female is part of the game, BioWare’s promotional Hawke is not and no signs of a female version of the new game’s protagonist have been released or promised. Lady Hawke is just one example, but feminism in the gaming world is on the rise.

New story details emerge also

Earlier this week, we posted some news about a new high-tier DLC package in the works by BioWare and had a brief impression of the content. Now, that DLC has a name and more details have been revealed about the new content. One thing about “The Golems of Amgarrak” hasn’t changed though - this new module is reportedly going to be tough.

A greywardens.com fan writes in about DA2, new DLC from Comic Con

Aakduce, a fan of Greywardens.com (and Dragon Age, of course), was lucky enough to hang out at the San Diego Comic Con the other day. Even better — he had the chance to hang out with BioWare’s Evil Chris Priestly and Mike Laidlaw. Evil Chris, as you may know, is the social voice of all things BioWare, and by extension, Dragon Age; and Mike Laidlaw is the lead designer behind the epic-ness that is the story of Dragon Age 2. IGN offers early gameplay review

BioWare is debuting its first hands-on experience with Dragon Age 2 at the San Diego Comic Con this week. Unfortunately we can’t staff the show, but the good folk at IGN did get a chance to sit down with the XBOX360 early version and posted up their impressions of the build.
